What are your writing goals for the next year?

Mine are (after panto has finished in February)

1. Edit properly my WIP. I'm thinking of completely rewriting it. Never tried that before, but I'm not happy with the editing so far and think I can do it better.

1. Get permission to perform a script I've written adapted from a children's book. I'm hoping that the copywrite is owned by family not a company, as we're a youth theatre, performing on a shoe string so have no money to pay for performing rights.

First creative exercise for drama before we write the plays was to take index cards, create characters and put very basic information on the characters. For example, "Amelia, 31, long blonde hair, blue eyes, wears red knitted scarves, loves The Beatles." Then during the next meeting we swapped cards and wrote mini interactions between the characters. Was interesting initially writing the cards though, as I feel that it was just a very general one-dimensional description of them... we weren't allowed to put how they feel.
