Hello, is anyone doing NaNoWriMo next month? Am thinking I might, but a bit challenged time wise right now!

Thank you! Feel free to link if you would like to.

I am sure your plot will fall into place, Imperial. You've pulled plots together before, after all!

ImperialBlether · 02/11/2015 17:59

Review of Five Wounds by Katharine Edgar.

The novel on Amazon.

I don't agree with the reviewer regarding the cover, though, do you? I love it. Nice to have a review from a teenager - your market audience!

ImperialBlether · 02/11/2015 18:00

It's the plotting that I find tortuous. I'm always trying to sum it up in one sentence and it's hard!

bangbangprettypretty · 02/11/2015 18:10

SO pleased to see this thread!

I started yesterday on a WIP that's been simmering since the summer, so I want to tear through the 50,000 words and get a semblance of a first draft together!

I can't really tell anyone except family that I'm writing so it'll be good to have some other people to share it with!

Dietcherrycola · 02/11/2015 19:42

I cant write at home in the evening iamnot - brain frazzled. I've taken to going to bed with my laptop in case I have insomnia! I've also been writing when I should be working, not really sustainable, but so tempting. Where abouts are people? I wonder if we could arrange a MN write in?

Dietcherrycola · 02/11/2015 19:44

Oh bangbang I'm the same, got a good plot/structure I've been fine tuning in my head for nearly a year, determined to thrash out any old thing and then work it up from the first draft. Why can't you tell anyone you're writing?

Dietcherrycola · 02/11/2015 19:46

And congrats countess, good for you! Would love to know more about your journey from nano to published and reviewed!

bangbangprettypretty · 02/11/2015 21:21

Well done Countess! V impressed.

Dietcherry I work in publishing where it's better to keep the fact you're a writer on the quiet!

Despite working with books every day I am still in awe of authors who manage to just get their heads down and create something!

I've done my 1,666 words today so feel quite proud.

CuffsAndCollar · 02/11/2015 23:13

Only 500 here, but trying. Problem is I know my high level plot but not all the bits I between so struggling to know where to start. Frustrated with myself!

Great review Countess!

Well done bangbang! I've been writing again today (instead of working eh hem) and not done yet.

Dietcherrycola · 03/11/2015 12:49

Cuffs- here's the thing about nano, just jump in and keep writing. You don't have to do it in order, start with a scene you are sure about. It's too easy to get tangled up with thinking, just write - you can make it good later.

allnewdiamonddealer · 03/11/2015 13:55

I only managed 750 words yesterday so I'm starting to slip behind, will need to crack on with it tonight. Just getting some written every day though will be a vast improvement on my usual

Linds53 · 03/11/2015 18:09

Great review Countess. Well done!

bangbangprettypretty · 03/11/2015 20:44

Just finished my words for today - managed to do 1850 (while DH made dinner and did the washing so I could write!).

I genuinely don't think I've ever got this far before - over 5,000 words now - how is everyone else's going?

Dietcherrycola · 03/11/2015 20:47

Hi bangbang - I'm over 5k now too. Am meeting another mum in a cafe for a writing date tomorrow, hoping to bump the number up again. I'm not very confident about what I'm writing, but I'm trying not to think about that...

Dietcherrycola · 03/11/2015 20:48

Your fella sounds like a good in btw.

Dietcherrycola · 03/11/2015 20:48

*goodun

Trenzalor · 03/11/2015 21:32

waves hello all. I'm doing nano for the umpteenth time this year and it only just struck me to see if there was a Mumsnet forum about it...

I've made a good start (I'm trying to get ahead to compensate for the days I know I won't be able to do much, if any writing). I'm also publishing as I go on Smashwords as I find that really motivating.

So far I've had characters witter on about toast, coffee and a packed lunch. I don't know if I'm really hungry or desperate for the word count...

Dietcherrycola · 04/11/2015 21:56

Yes, mine seem to be dealing with a lot of dietary issues too. Hit 7k today today though, even if it is all waffle!

Dietcherrycola · 06/11/2015 15:01

Anyone else been writing?

EatingMyWords · 07/11/2015 10:45

Yeah, got over 11k now and have written a bit in all three POVs I'm using so getting into it now.

randomcatname · 07/11/2015 13:01

Well done everyone, that's great to hear. I'm around the 3000 mark so a bit behind. I might sign up to the site so I can post on there for a kick up my arse.

Trenzalor · 08/11/2015 23:16

Today's food writing was doughnuts. Hit 26k so my mission to stay ahead is still working.

FiveHoursSleep · 09/11/2015 09:20

Another latecomer here. Am trying to do 2K a day as I have some busy days later this month and have done 14K so far. I did start a day late though.
This is my 3rd time doing NaNo and I don't have a plot, just started with an idea and kept on writing....
