That's it, really. Every fourth Friday they'll let people pitch to them - if they like the pitch they'll be in touch.

I've just been reading the tweets, some interesting ideas and a huge response. And some trolling, as is unfortunately the way!

I'm quite tempted to try a 141 character pitch once my own book is finished.

ImperialBlether · 27/07/2015 14:17

I don't think it has to be finished, squoosh. Do you have three good chapters and a plan for the rest? If you have, I'd tweet it next time. Good luck!

They tweeted on the day when replying to someone who asked if they could submit unfinished work "you can but it's just best to wait until you're finished (or close to finishing) before you submit."

ImperialBlether · 27/07/2015 17:49

Oh okay, sorry!

Thanks for this, I'll give it a go tomorrow. Now to come up with a tweet!

Come on everyone, get that pitch into 140 characters now!

I think I've tweeted too many now Grin how did you get on Imperial? I've enjoyed reading all the pitches - some books I'd like to read there and some most definitely not!

ImperialBlether · 28/08/2015 22:35

I just pitched two books and apart from you and Fiona I got ignored!! Thank you for favouriting me. How did you get on? I'm sorry I only saw a couple of yours - did you do more?

My tweet was favourited by a CB agent... I submitted, and have not heard anything yet. GAH. Think it can take 6-8 weeks.
Essentially it's the same as submitting in the normal way, except you have at least an indication that one of the agents is interested in the story.

ImperialBlether · 10/09/2015 15:24

I'd love to know what you tweeted, its1999! It's so hard to condense it into 140 characters, isn't it? When did you tweet?

It took CB about 10 weeks to reply to my submission (not through Twitter) - I wrote and asked them if they'd read it and they replied the same day with a really good rejection (there IS such a thing!) I think they get so much stuff sent to them they just can't get through it all, tbh.

Ahaha- I'd love to share tweet but it would out me completely.
It was tricky, I ran various versions past trusted critical friends first.
I found successful tweets from the previous month- and they seemed to all keep something back/ask a question, and were written like the tagline on the front of a book, rather than a more straightforward mini-synopsis. So that's what I did. Set the scene, ended with a question.
I tweeted the pitch during PitchCB at the end of Aug- so only a couple of weeks ago. Feels like forever, mind you.

StormCoat · 10/09/2015 16:02

Can someone link me? Do I need to be on Twitter myself? It sounds funny. So is a CB person actually publicly asking for full MS submissions from tweets s/he likes?

madhairday · 10/09/2015 16:44

There's a pitch party today on Twitter - #pitmad - it's more US based I think but there are UK agents on there too apparently. But there are literally thousands of entries, I don't know how anyone trawls through it all!
I wasn't successful with the cb one :( Still trying to work out what to include in a tweet - so difficult to do it in 140 characters.

Well done 1999, great achievement just to get a favourite :) It's that horrible waiting period though isn't it - I'm in that now just through the usual subbing. Could drive me mad if I thought too much about it Grin

madhairday · 10/09/2015 16:45

Storm, they only have it on the last friday of the month.
