Has anyone heard of AuthorHouse?

A few days ago, I followed a link from an advert here in Mumsnet, regarding self-publishing. Any experiences? Is this a reliable company or one to avoid?

I don't have personal experience but I will say that you will pay a premium by using a company like that, and it's not that hard to source cover designers, editors etc yourself.

Thanks for your comment, Countess. You are right, there are things I would definitely not need should I ever finish anything. And the promised "Guide to Publishing" is always one click away...

Googling "authorhouse scam" pulls up too many hits for me to think it's a coincidence.

My dad has recently oh listed with author house, all seems to have gone well.
