My dad has retired this spring; he joined a writing club & it writing short stories

& much as it embarrasses me they are really good "womens magazine" type stories. (it embarrasses me because he was a management consultant, and has always previously written technical things and I'm used to proofing those not emotional/feeling based stuff)

Presumably these magazines are inundated with possible stories; but if he wants a go at it, how does he go about it?

He should get the Writers' and Artists' Year Book - it goes through every publisher, including magazines, and tells you what to do re sending them in. He can see a copy at the library if he doesn't want to pay for one.
