Any good CW clubs/sites/competitions for 12yr old DD?

DD loves writing and spends majority of her spare time writing stories. They can be rather dark and teachers etc have previously said she writes as someone far older than she is (not necessarily content, more so the vocal used etc).

She is top set for English and although actively encouraged at school she would love an outlet as such where she could submit her stories and also gain tips etc. She would like to be an author when she is older.

I haven't really delved into this as yet but wondered if anyone knows of a good place to start?

Oh how lucky you are - my daughter has won prizes for short stories but has now turned her back on creative writing. I know that Slingink have regular comps, the Brit Unpublished Writers have a big annual comp. There are often lots of quirky and free competitions that spring up - sometimes on TV (ITV had one recently). The only real way is to check listings (Prize Magic, Sally Quilford's Competition Calendar) but also to do a regular sweep on Google.

I will tell you of any that come up - I will post it on here. Good luck to her. If she ever wants someone to look over a story, I would be more than willing. Young writers should be encouraged!

Oh I feel so I had completely forgotten I'd started this thread!

Will have a proper look at links later but in the meantime, Thankyou so much. DD will be thrilled I'm sure.

I should also add, she will be 12 in December, hormones are kicking in and I'm not sure whether she will maintain her interest. I'm sure boys and other teen-related things will soon be a bigger draw :(
