A horrendous story in the Irish Times today regarding an Irish girl and her mother allegedly being drugged and raped by a Swiss politician.
The girl was 14 at the time.
According to the paper “…..The nature of the alleged offences have caused Swiss media to compare the case to that of Giséle Pelicot….”
To compound the horror, a year after police began to investigate Patrick Frei, the Swiss Immigration authorities issued a deportation order against the girl and her mother (who had been in a relationship with Frei) as they argued that the mother’s work visa was fraudulent and they were only entitled to emergency social welfare.
These decisions were rescinded thankfully possibly due to negative public opinion.
Isn’t it just awful 😢
