The triple lock, Trump and being geographically in the middle

As the great orange gelatinous blob gets more and more unhinged I am beginning to worry about what this means for us.

More and more talk about dismantling the triple lock and the fact that we are geographically in the middle of a potential conflict makes me so uneasy.

I would smoke them out of the Dàil before I’d stand by and let them take away our neutrality but do we have enough fight in us to stop them?

I don't like that other countries can have such a big deciding factor on what we can and cannot do with our military. Countries like the USA could veto Ireland sending troops

Then why all the talk of “reviewing” triple lock?

The triple lock means something different in Ireland, nothing to do with pensions.

As @pontipinemum said it’s to stop other countries from telling us where and where not our troops can be sent

Nothing wrong with having a good army , naval service and proper radar. I can't see even our spineless eejit government joining a defense pact which is on the brink of self destruction though. We'll just go on being technically neutral. But working closely with Britain and France no doubt.
