Yes another victim of male violence. This poor little girl and her mother. It’s unimaginable.

Now I have seen another headline about a man arrested in Louth this morning after three adults were found dead.

It's harrowing, both stories. That poor little girl. Her poor, poor mother. It's unimaginable.

And I wonder if the Louth tragedy is a family thing too. I'm guessing so.

ItstheHRTpat · 29/09/2025 17:32

It's just awful. Wonder if she was getting ready to leave him and thats why he did it? I cannot understand the mindset at all

We said immediatly that the Louth thing is a family thing, likely over land or an inheritance of some type (parents and 2 sons).

PegDope · 29/09/2025 21:29

@ItstheHRTpat I said the same to my DH when I read about it.

She probably told him she was leaving.

Awful stuff happening recently. I remember the tragedy in Kanturk over a land dispute back a few years ago, and many others too. Mostly men being the perpetrators. Why oh why?

Abhannmor · 30/09/2025 11:28

It's awful. Resolving land disputes isn't rocket science for god's sake. I've read of women committing suicide/ murder or just killing a child. Much rarer though surely.

I remember my mother saying , decades ago , that you'd have to be very desperate to take your own life , as it's a mortal sin. So not an easy way out in other words. I'm not a mass goer but sometimes wonder if the decline in religious belief is a factor. There again , it could be a symptom rather than a cause. A symptom of a very selfish and individualistic society?

Mollydoggerson · 30/09/2025 11:32

It's a punishment, I think. You can be free of me, but I m taking the child with me. It's tragic. There are huge mental health problems in society today.

deeahgwitch · 01/10/2025 16:44

Oh that poor wee girl and her devastated mother and all those who loved her. Utterly heartbreaking.

Soonenough · 03/10/2025 20:34

Very sad in Louth . One brother with mental health issues killed his parents and brother with special needs . But there is another brother , a doctor . Now that poor man must probably have to get involved in the trial, possibly jail or detention for his brother who killed his family.

The other family was Polish so unlikely land involved . Probably a divorce and custody situation . Poor woman deprived of her child because of egotistical male attempt to destroy her . No thought or concern of his daughter's chance at life . Bastard .

How awful for the brother who has lost his mother, father and brother in terrible circumstances. 🥲
