Convalescent care home options after surgery Northern Ireland

Hi
has anyone had to get an elderly relative into a temporary care home after surgery, just for respite and help in first weeks.
My relative is having hip surgery and will need a bit of extra care for a couple of weeks after he is deemed fit for discharge - I can’t find any private nursing facilities that offer this type of thing. Apparently Ballykelly Private hospital used to but doesn’t any more.
Has anyone been through this?

It would be an absolute last resort for me to be honest. I work in one of the NI private hospitals and the number of care homes (booked for this reason!) that then suddenly decide post-op that actually they aren’t able to take the elderly person after all is shocking. They often just point blank refuse on the basis of fall risk. Patient then gets stuck in hospital until family/social worker can sort something out and it all becomes a bit of a nightmare.

If at all possible I’d work out a rota between family members and private carers in the relative’s own home - this is what we did when my elderly DM needed her hip done.

Thanks so much for responding.
I know what you mean but I’d really appreciate any names of Homes/Care providers that you’re aware of or come across professionally.
Caring at home with work, for at least the first couple weeks, can’t be an option unfortunately.
Have you (or anyone else) come across a private section offering this type of care?
What do you mean about private carers, where would I locate them?
It’s not my field at all, any help would be so appreciated.
