Does the child need to be present for an urgent passport appointment in London?

The website only says a guardian - does the child herself need to be there as well?

Sorry a few days ago and you're probably sorted. I would think yes. I got a passport in the London office at 16yrs old so I'm really not sure if I classed as a child, I would think yes? I did it myself

I brought her in the end, and it was fine. She was delighted - morning off school (had her back after lunch), a snack in Gail's AND sushi for lunch in Paddington. Complete win for her. 😁
