Team Ireland has won the 4 x 400m mixed relay in the European Championships.

They were all really good. I thought that they might be in the mix for a bronze but never imagined gold

It is so exciting especially as it was unexpected. So proud!

Sharlene Mawdsley, who ran the final leg, ran an outstanding race. She looked so comfortable and you could tell she had it in her to power through - she streaked ahead by the end.

I think medal ceremony is happening around 5.40pm.

It was a fantastic race, shame on RTÉ for not showing it live, we knew they were in with a shout for a medal
