I was sitting outside a tiny coffee shop in Ireland last month. It was sunny and there were only a couple of small tables outside, so and old women sat at the same table as me.

I got chatting to her. She was so interesting. She was 82, she was very fit and healthy .

She said that she had been born in Ireland and after she got married in her twenties, she moved with her husband to Washington DC, USA .

She said her husband worked for the White house as a writer for politicians, and that she had four sons, I think two werw involved in politics in some way. she said she hadn't been back to Ireland in forty years, and I was chatting to her on her first trip back in a long time.

She was telling me to make good decisions in life. I think I said oh well you know I'm in my late thirties. Because I was feeling a bit old and that it was too late to do some things

. And she said "you're in your prime! Make good decisions now for your future". She said she was 82.and that she had had a great interesting life. And then she finished her coffee and went off. It was a great profound meeting over coffee. I was just thinking about her and I thought I'd share on craicnet!

My nanny is 94. It is so interesting to talk to her, really fascinating. (thanks for reminding me to give her a ring!)
