Hi. DD14 wants to stay in town til 8.30pm tomorrow and then get the bus to Blarney where she wants me to collect her. I'm not letting her.

What age would you let your DD do that?

We're just bumping this thread in case anyone's around to give the OP an answer before tonight.

@Americanhousewifefan, it should be 100% fine to be honest. However, I'd not have left DD do that bus ride alone at that age.

When our kids where that age, and in town at that time (after sports or movie) we'd always collect them directly on the south mall (it's a bit of a pain, but you can pull in to side of road illegally for a few mins). Could you collect her in the city centre?

Thanks. I will collect her but still not sure she should be in town that late. I'm probably over reacting.

@Americanhousewifefan, I don’t think you are over reacting. The few situations where I encountered that with our kids were in relation to going to a movie, or after a sports event, very specific things, not just hanging out in the city centre.

I really don’t think the city centre is a place for younger teens to hang out after 6pm this time of year. That’s just me, others will disagree.

Thanks. I won't be letting her out so late in town any time soon. Her friends are all allowed to do whatever they want it seems and she pushes and pushes so much I end up questioning myself.
