Anyone watching this? Was he having an affair with Mrs. Flynn?

Yes, I watched the first episode last night.

I think he was certainly having an affair with somebody.

All the parishioners interviewed seemed certain nothing untoward had been going on, but it was very odd that he was in the couple's bedroom with them at night.

Ah yes I see what you mean Drama the conversation about wanting to be himself!

I don't remember this happening. I had mixed it up with another priest who was killed along with a mother and child.

I was half watching the first part and said to my husband (who had it on and was properly watching it) that he was obviously at it with the wife. With the wife saying she just woke up to it all. And the husband coming up with the excuse that they had all been drinking in the bedroom.

But I wasn't watching closely so I know there was other stuff with money problems going on. And if the husband had caught him in his wife's bed, they weren't really sneaking around where they if the husband was home?

But yeah, to me. Priest having some kind of relationship with wife. Husband killed priest. Cover up to prevent knowledge of the affair coming out. Or so that the husband didn't have a huge motive for murder.

I hadn't heard of it either, but it's fascinating. It'll be impossible to find out the truth after so long, I suppose.

JaneJeffer · 13/09/2021 23:33

The gardai made a complete balls of the investigation either by ineptitude or deliberately.

I have recorded it but not watched it yet.
Very sad for the family and friends of Fr Niall Molloy.

FreedomAintWorthNothing · 14/09/2021 20:49

Where can it be watched? Hopefully not RTE cos' I don't have that!

Is there a good synopsis of the story anywhere?

Blogdog · 14/09/2021 22:43

It’s on the RTE Player so you can watch it online or stream it to your TV if you have a smart one.

Very sad case - I felt for the family who are clearly so desperate for answers and closure, which it looks like they’ll never get.

FreedomAintWorthNothing · 14/09/2021 23:32

Unfortunately I'm in the UK and we can't watch RTE Player. So annoying.

LadyEloise1 · 15/09/2021 19:37

I'm in Ireland and can't get the BBC Player.
Shouldn't our 2 state broadcasting companies come to a reciprocal arrangement Smile
