I’m flying from Edinburgh to Dublin in the 9th September with my 9 year old. I’ve had both my vaccines and have the NHS proof on my phone and on paper. Am I right in saying I don’t need a test? Just to fill in the passenger locator form?
Thanks

@BertiesShoes ah you’ll be grand, I was sweating by the time I got there right enough we were going at a fair pace. We just had carry on bags too so not sure if it was busy at baggage reclaim

MakeTeaNotWar · 10/09/2021 23:49

@BertiesShoes will you have luggage to collect? If it's just hand luggage, should be ok.

BertiesShoes · 11/09/2021 08:41

@MakeTeaNotWar

Yes I will probably have hold luggage, although not 100% certain.

We are looking at what size carry-on bags we have, but given that it is end of October, I will need warmer clothes for a week than now!

Also, it being half term, I think flights will be busy - the Aer Lingus flights from Mcr on Sat 23/10 are already fully booked.

How busy Dublin will be, I don’t know - what was it like in English summer holidays?

I went that last week of July/ 1st week of august and both Heathrow T3 and Dublin were completely empty

Does anyone know if I need to fill in the as passenger locator form to go back to the UK? I don’t need a test as it’s the Common Travel Area, is that correct?

Carriemac · 12/09/2021 12:11

No form
And no test needed

JoeCrackers · 12/09/2021 13:05

@Carriemac great thanks

BertiesShoes · 14/09/2021 06:58

@MakeTeaNotWar - wow that is empty!

Hope you had a good trip @JoeCrackers are you home now?

I have now booked to go over on Friday 22/10, via Aer Lingus, hoping that by going Friday I will miss the worst of the half term hordes!

I am sure that I may have more questions nearer the time, but thanks for all help given to date.

PS we have got a choice of 2 bags that I can take as 10kg hand luggage (although my booking does allow hold luggage if I change my mind!) so I am intending packing minimally and doing some washing at my aunties.

JoeCrackers · 14/09/2021 10:43

@BertiesShoes

Yeah got back Sunday night, didn’t need to show anything coming back to Scotland.
Glad you are booked, I took a 10kg small suitcase and a rucksack as hand luggage and it was fine for me and my daughter for 3 days. It’s good when you’re staying with family , I just use all my sisters toiletries 😊
