I've just registered my 12 year old partly because my parents are in the uk I'm in Ireland and it's just cost me 130 pounds for a pcr travell test to return to Ireland after visiting the uk! which nobody even checked when arriving back into Ireland!!!!
Dd has a few underlying conditions one which is under investigation so I'm worried about her having the vaccine but I'm also worried if she was to catch covid.
Just looking to see how many of you are also registering your 12-15 year olds and if you are worried at all.

Yes. My 17 year old was vaccinated two weeks ago and my 15 year old will get his tomorrow.

Cheeeeislifenow · 15/08/2021 09:30

Yep. I don't know anyone who isn't.

I registered my 12 year old on Wednesday. We had our first appointment at the Aviva stadium yesterday and there were hundreds there in this age group.

daisyhead08 · 15/08/2021 12:00

I registered my 12 and 14 year old daughters on Friday and they will both be vaccinated tomorrow morning.

Sillawithans · 12/09/2021 16:40

I have 4 teenagers and none of them are being vaccinated.

GoodnightGrandma · 12/09/2021 16:42

Yes.

MaudebeGonne · 12/09/2021 16:45

My 12 year old had Covid over the Summer so going to wait a couple of months, but probably will get her vaccinated (unless she is passionately against it).

BBOA · 12/09/2021 16:47

Have I missed something? You can register them already?

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 12/09/2021 16:49

Is this an Irish thing? I'm in England and know nothing about it

BBOA · 12/09/2021 16:51

Yes just checked and not available in England yet. Seem to be changing mind weekly here!

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 12/09/2021 17:08

My mistake, I misread the topic this is in, I thought it was the general rotavirus one. Ignore me Smile

LavenderAskew · 12/09/2021 17:13

Everyone vaccinated in my household now and have thier covid passports.

I'm in the same situation as you OP, my parents are in UK.

GoogleWhacked · 13/09/2021 13:38

Both my teens have had their vax - I got it to protect myself so want them equally protected. They're both double jabbed now, it's great!

thelegohooverer · 14/09/2021 14:52

Yes. Mine has just started secondary and moving with much older teens now. I wasn’t as concerned in primary as he was friends with other boys who were eldest in their families and moving in a fairly small group. Of all of us, it feels like he would be the most likely to bring it home now.

Joolsin · 19/09/2021 00:35

Every 12-15 year old I know has been double jabbed by now. And all the older teens too. The cases have plummeted in secondary schools as a result

kissmelittleass · 19/09/2021 08:24

Since thread dd has been seen by her paediatric consultant who has advised to hold back on the vaccine for now until further tests are carried out etc,

We're in scotland. My 12 year old has had his vaccine because he is registered as a young carer for his disabled toddler brother.

Knitwit101 · 19/09/2021 09:42

Mine have had it already. They don't have any choice about being in school every day, I gave them the choice about this. They both wanted to have it. They've not had any side effects or problems.

Abraxan · 19/09/2021 10:33

Everyone I know with teens are getting them vaccinated.I don't actually know any who aren't.

A lot of doing it to make international travel easier - they are all hoping a second shot will be announced once the first are through.

Where are they? In England they won’t double jab them. Angry

Most of the 12+ I know have been double jabbed too - a very small number holding out, but all my DC's friends have been.

@PersephoneJames this is Craicnet so all Ireland focused.

PersephoneJames · 19/09/2021 18:31

Ah i didn’t notice! Sorry. My Dsis teaches in Spain and 80% of her school are double vaxxed - no cases yet!

SunscreenCentral · 26/09/2021 23:41

My 13yo had his 1st (in local boots) 3 weeks ago
