Where can I buy some lovely quality sheets? Preferably Ireland/NI, but EU if not

Most of my sheets have been John Lewis or House of Fraser Hotel range. It's been a pain in the neck because we have single, double and king sized beds and all the sheets are white so we have to open them all up to check the size when changing the beds. They are all getting old, the DS's sheets have had a hard life but even the more gently used ones have dodgy elastic in the corners. So I'm going to replace them with a different colour for each bed size. I'd like a reasonably high thread count.

I've been looking at this website, but I'm a bit pissed off that they properly gouge you if you use the Irish site, £45 for a single sheet on the .com website but €77 for the same sheet on the .ie website (they are based in NI). I can understand need to allow for currency exchange variations, but that's ridiculous.

Try Zara Home. They have some reasonably high thread count sheets. Is there anything on the Arnotts website?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/02/2021 14:22

Thanks TheLongRider I wouldn't have thought of Zara. I'll check out Arnotts too (although I'm a bit wary of them since I ordered a bed that was supposed to take 3 months to deliver but didn't arrive and they couldn't give me a date, so I cancelled after 6 months).

Arnotts were having a sale, so good call there. I got some 400 thread count sheets at a very reasonable price. They didn't have any deep super-king though, so I'll get those from Zara maybe.

I'm picky about thread count and quality bed linen so I feel your pain in trying to get good stuff. If you've got the budget, Brown Thomas probably has what you're looking for.

I bought a 300 thread count duvet set from Zara last year and it's lovely. No problems with delivery. H&M Home might be another place to try.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 01/02/2021 16:46

I've had a look at H&M, they don't give a thread count. Their washed linen sheets did well in a Mumsnet 'best sheets' article, but I'm not keen on the feeling of linen, I like a smooth, cool cotton.

Zara do a 500 thread count deep super-kingsize, so I think that's probably the thing that I'm looking for.

H&M do give a thread count for some of their Classic collection bed linens.

I’ve used Bedeck home and didn’t pay any customs. They always have a discount code floating around too.

Did you check out HomeStoreandMore,
M & S, Shaws, Next and Dunnes ?

Since Debenhams, Clerys and House of Fraser, pulled out or went bang we have been left with little choice.

The only big departent stores in Dublin are BT and Arnotts both owned by the same Weston company.

LadyEloise · 02/02/2021 15:48

The White Company. They've a shop on Grafton Street so you mightn't have the palaver of Brexit taxes if bought from UK.

My DM bought the M&S Egyptian 230 thread count. She loves them. When purchasing said sheets I pointed out that she was looking at the Egyptian cotton sheets and not the usual percale ones. She shushed me and when she got to the till realised her mistake but bought them anyhow. But once she tried them she had to buy another set. They also do 400 thread count sheets.

BeetyAxe · 14/02/2021 23:35

TX Maxx sometimes do Hotel Range sheets and they are wonderful. Feel really lovely and have a high thread count.

eggandonion · 14/02/2021 23:39

I have a Francis Brennan sheet and two pillowcases from dunnes. They wrinkle!

Lineofconcepcion · 14/02/2021 23:47

These are gorgeous 1000 thread count. I have them on all my beds, and they wash beautifully.

Saisong · 14/02/2021 23:53

You can always sew a small patch of different colour thread into the seam of each bed set to make them easily distinguishable, or mark the labels with a sharpie!

Looks good but they say you won't ever want to get out of bed so I don't think I can live with that

Bedeck are a wonderful NI brand

eggandonion · 15/02/2021 12:20

I want new sheets now. Thanks!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/02/2021 13:47

Are they in NI Lineofconcepcion?

I'll check out Bedeck thanks Sylvia.

I probably should have done an identifier rather than just keep struggling to find the right sheets Saisong, but as most of our sheets are fairly old and have had a tough life I might as well go for each size in a different colour while I'm replacing anyway. That way I can tell at a glance which is which in the hot press.

I have constant ads from Bedeck now, they look lovely. I need a new mattress, dh doesn't seem to realise how grim ours is, and once I get that sorted I'm sure new sheets will be required.
Is there a Bedeck shop or online only, its only 300 miles from Cork. It would be essential travel.
