In all probability it is illegal ... but I'd not have a problem with it!!

It is certainly illegal.

@BasedInDublin, it's also well known in the local area, a lot of people sadly unsurprised by one of the families involved. If something liked that happened in your neighborhood wouldn't you want to know? regardless of the age of the murderers?

Emotionally I can understand why people would be against the prosecution of the lady from Waterford. It will be interesting to see how this proceeds.

I did not see the material posted, but it's very possible that details in the posting could have an impact on the forthcoming appeals. That would not be good!

The names/photos were being released as the trial was ongoing - it would have been appalling for the whole thing to collapse on the basis of them claiming to be unable to get a fair trial.
Another issue - 1 v common name, to the extent that another boy was being incorrectly identified on sm as boy a.
Finally - 'oh we need to know their names/photos for when they're released' - again, 1 common name as above & when they're released as adults they'll quite likely bear eff all resemblance to the photos that were circulated of them as 13/14 yos.
