If I like BBC Radio 6 Music, what Irish radio station would I like?

Recently moved home after years and years in the UK. My go to station was always 6 Music - I'm not really into charty pop music.

I can listed to 6 Music over Sonos but would like to listen to more Irish radio so I feel like I'm actually at home.

Today FM was my fave in the early 00s but I'm not mad keen on the music. So, Any suggestions?

There's very little since Phantom FM closed down some years back. The only really comparable music show I think is Paul McLoone on Today FM 10pm - 12am.

Thanks Joolsin, that was my fear! Ah well, will just have to brave the pop so

8radio is worth a listen, definite vibes of the old Phantom.

They're not an FM broadcaster but you can listen via web or app.

There are some great music shows on Irish radio in the evenings:

The John Creedon Show - Radio 1 Mon-Fri, 8-10pm
Late Date - Radio 1 each night, 11-2am (a mixed bag at times, depends on the presenter)
South Wind Blows - Radio 1 Sat, 10-11pm
Mystery Train with John Kelly - LyricFM Sun-Thu, 7-9pm (very eclectic, has a guest on the Sunday evening programme and those episodes are a personal must-listen)
The Purple Vespertine with Ellen Cranitch - LyricFM Fri-Sun, 10-1am (a fantastic show, one of the best anywhere)

Each of the pages above should have some past playlists, so you can get an idea whether they may be of interest. Past episodes are available on the RTE Player too.

There's also the online station 2XM, I get the impression it would be similar to 6 Music but don't listen to it often.
