Mother and baby deaths in cork hospital

I’ve just heard this tragic news. How awful!

That's awful. So so sad I'm gonna go hug my baby now.

She leaves two boys behind. What that family must be going through. At what should be a happy time for them.

Just saw it earlier in one of the papers. Awful tragedy. The poor family.

It seems she suffered an epileptic fit. She went in the private room to be able to get some rest and there were only 3 midwives caring for 31 women that night.

Just so so sad. My heart goes out to her family.
People often say that you are better off in semi private or public as there are more staff around.

I had a private room with both mine and I was just so desperate to sleep I would have taken a coal bunker outside if they'd offered one. But yes it does appear that staying on the ward or semi private is far safer.

This is so desperately sad. It had also occurred to me that she might have been safer semi private or public. Her poor family must be devastated.
