Katie Hopkinsis a career mouth on a stick. Why RTE has anything to do with her is a mystery to me .
She is looking down her big honk at all these daft Paddys paying her good money for talking shite. She's a nobody, just ignore her folks.

user1469928875 · 14/11/2016 12:27

Daft Paddys? What do you mean by that exactly?

DameChocolate · 14/11/2016 12:31

Money is money to kh
she loves us.

iamamickey · 14/11/2016 12:44

Seriously?

Daft Paddys???

I watched it yes, there was a guy in the audience who was in the middle of making an excellent point re trump and his apparent lack of ability to talk in cohesive sentences. She shouted him down and I wish he had been allowed to finish and make her answer his point. She showed herself to be a media whore and will clearly say anything to get on TV.

hollyisalovelyname · 14/11/2016 17:55

I don't think 123 was calling us 'daft paddys' but believed that was how Katie Hopkins viewed us - RTE willing to pay her to spout her views.
Some British people do have a patronising view of the Irish.
I think some of them believe we still live in one roomed stone cottages are poorly educated and prone to drink too much.

I doubt Katie hates the daft paddys any more than she allegedly hates children who are named after places!!!!

user1469928875 · 14/11/2016 19:07

Possibly. But I resent the phrase. Why are people still saying it? Ireland is a very well respected country throughout the world - which is more than can be said for the welcome the British sometimes recieve...My family are Irish but I grew up in London and yes the attitude is still there vaguely sometimes. Kept alive and well by people saying things like 'daft paddys'. But I love being Irish and I love being me so it's fine really - just knee jerk reaction Smile

user1469928875 · 14/11/2016 19:09

Actually I am also partly Spanish from my grandma so I would consider myself European possibly? Guess the British who still dislike Irish people definitely have set themselves apart on that front - good luck for Brexit FlowersWink

DameChocolate · 14/11/2016 21:48

I wouldn't bother reacting for the reasons listed above. We're a very well-educated and spirited nation and those who are well-informed (yahoo, google, facebook for example Grin know that).

Anybody who thinks Ireland is some third world back water compared to the UK is just prejudiced or ignorant. Let them at it. We do also have prejudiced and ignorant people here and you can't make everybody in the world sensible.

so {shrug}

user1469928875 · 14/11/2016 22:19

Very true x

honeyrider · 16/11/2016 01:19

I saw the interview, I believe Ryan was delighted with how the interview was going and played along with her pantomime villian act. The other woman was a waste of time

DameChocolate · 16/11/2016 07:42

oh for sure! RTE would have thrown him a meaty bone. They probably sank a few in the green room, all delighted with how villainous the villain was. The ratings were through the roof.
