Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Can baby sleep in Joie Sansa Rocker and swing or is it unsafe for long periods. My newborn fall asleep in the rocker, is there a limit on how long he can be in like like there is a limit on car seats

I always check the lullaby trust. They are really clear not to let your baby sleep in rockers. I must admit my first child occasionally fell asleep in a bouncer, but I did try to transfer to a flat surface. It’s really hard, but the reason they advise not is that it can be dangerous

Not safe at all, if they fall asleep you HAVE to move them as the chance of them being in a chin on chest position and blocking their airway is really high. Personally I would lift them and then cuddle on my chest as that was the best way to keep them asleep and maintain the nap.

Because babies have poor neck control and the chin tends to fall on the chest, your baby wouldn’t have the ability to lift their head if breathing became difficult.
