Snuzpod vs Bednest vs chicco next 2 me

Hi All

I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and am investigating co-sleeping options. We had a moses basket with our first and I didn't find it that great (quite hard to lift her in and out smoothly etc). It also looks like I'm going to have a c-section this time so I thought a co-sleeper would stop the bending/leaning over.

The title says the rest really - anybody have any feedback? I only came across the Chicco next 2 me today, and it seems similar to the other 2 but £100 cheaper.

Also - we have a divan bed, not a frame. How you strap the cot to the bed in this case.

Thanks in advance!

I had a SnuzPod with my second baby (sadly not around with my first) and loved it. Very sad that she has just moved to her big girl cot. Definitely worth the money and in my opinion better that the Chicco. Its really well made and a gorgeous design, which I liked. Great to have baby right next to me at night and the wall was easy to zip up and down during the night so I could easily reach her and often just left it zipped down. Attaches securely to the bed frame and works with Divans too so there is no movement or gap. In response to the above it is height adjustable and there are quite a few different height settings so that you can get it to match up to your bed. It only rocks if you choose to rock it unlike my old moses basket which seemed to constantly move. Its Fab! Hope that helps

I'm interested in the widths of the snuzpod, chicco and bednest as similarly to the lady above mine hit their arms on the side of the Moses basket and were in it a matter of weeks. I love the snuzpod but it seems very narrow, similarly the bednest seems narrow. I've seen the chicco one and the mattress seems very very hard which was also an issue with my others but a much much better side.cant fit much bigger in our room. Any advice???

It's a concern, isn't it?
Saw the chicco next to me in mothercare and the side panel was a right faff to undo.Looks like you'd be lying on the metal bar.
Think I'll check eBay for other options as I don't fancy a moses basket given that DD only used it for 6 weeks.

We looked at the Chicco, snuzpod and bednest. For us it came down to the quality of the build, ease of use and the functionality and the snuzpod won these hands down. Plus it looks a lot nicer too.

I can echo what Charlibot1 said...it is height adjustable as we had to set it up to our king size divan bed.

My missus had a c-section and couldn't move much due to the pain so this was the perfect answer so that she could easily pick him up for breastfeeding.

Hi been reading your comments and I have a strange request.
I know these cribs are for early days usage but I am looking to use some to fit out a baby and child changing facility at a swim school so mum can feel safe knowing baby is secure whilst changing. Do those of you who have them and used them think they would be suitable even when a child is sitting? My swim school is from birth and I have some parents using the baskets on the floor that you would normally put your swim bag in to sit up their 7month plus in!! But looking for something safe to use in my new facility but to help mums with this issue. Would you say they are sturdy enough. There would be three solid sides of the cubicle around them but thought the fold down side would be ideal for while they get their child dried and dressed and then zip it up etcetera when they need to sort themselves out

Any thoughts???
Thank you

Hi, I'm 32 weeks and have been eyeing up the Chicco next to me for weeks now. It was only yesterday I came across the Snuzpod which has really caught my eye & has so many advantages to it. I'm still in two minds though and my main 2 issues are the bit bring able to tilt the Snuzpod if baby had reflux. No problem if not but there's no way of telling, has anybody had any experience with this? And the other major part for me is how long the baby can stay in the Snupod for as although length wise they are both adequate, the Chicco is so much wider (about 55cm if my memory serves me right). Babies stretch out and although this wouldn't be a problem initially, after those 1st few weeks I can imagine the Snuzpod not being wide enough at all, it's really putting me off but I love everything else about it. Has anyone had it a good few months long enough to know it's durability? Would really appreciate any help with this. Thanks. Smile

Hello jojo4444

I have exactly the same questions as you... Which did you get in the end?

SSmummy87 · 01/07/2015 17:12

I'm also still trying to decide which bedside crib to get for my lo due later this year. I really want one and the snuzpod looks so lovely and also sturdy compared to chicco and even though it's a little bit more expensive I am thinking it will be worth it...
I found this video online all about the snuzpod when I was doing a bit of research earlier which is worth a watch as might help you
Would love to hear what you guys go for, i've still got a couple of months to decide!

I recently bought a new one called the Knuma Huddle after seeing it at The Baby Show in Birmingham. Was going to get the Snuzpod but went for this one as after DC is too old for it, it converts into a desk and bench which they say will last up to twelve years old. The rocker can also be turned off by reversing the feet.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 29/08/2015 15:49

I've just ordered the snuzpod. I was torn between it and the chicco. Was leaning a bit towards the chicco and a as said above its a bit wider, but its a few centimetres short for our bed whereas the snuzpod is high enough. I also like the fact that you can pick the basinette section off. I remember with ds we were always carrying the Moses basket about the house while he slept so I just made sense. And I've ordered One of the bedding bundles with the 2 fitted sheets, waterproof mattress and blankets so I don't have to hunt round looking for sheets.

I'm really excited, a co-sleeper is one of those things that would of made my life much easier with ds.

Bexster93 · 09/09/2015 13:48

I had my DD in June and I really love the Snuzpod, dreading her growing out of it in a few months! I just love how practical it has been. She was so happy when we used it as a moses basket around the house so she could stay with me. And unlike the Chicco crib (think it's called the NextToMe) which I went to see in store with a PG friend last week the snuzpod rocks which really helps when she is grizzly. When we attach it to the bed I just know she's safe and secure. And she's close to me at night if she does need me.

beckypoo22 · 16/05/2016 21:54

Hello. I'm thinking about getting the Chicco Next 2 Me Crib. Can anyone confirm if the mesh side can be put up and lowered whilst the crib is still attached to the bed? Thanks

Hi ladies :)
I’m expecting my first baby on the 16th of January, and I’m planning on breastfeeding. I was talking with my mother-in-law and mentioned I’m going for the Chico next to me crib and she told me that it’s a terrible idea, and I’m going to ruin my child, because it will never sleep alone. I’m never really worried that I’m going to be doing the wrong thing. Can somebody with recent experience please give me some advice 🙏🏻
Thank you xx
