Mattress for non-travelling travel cot?!

We have bought a travel cot for DC4 to sleep in in our room until DS2 is out of the cotbed. I want to use a proper mattress in it though as the base is very thin and hard.
I have looked a proper folding mattresses but they are all obviously thin for travelling with. I am struggling to find a thicker one in the right size.

The cot dimensions are 128X71 cms but I assume the mattress can be smaller than this, but how much smaller is safe?

TIA Smile

go to babymattresses on line - you can have whatever size and thickness of mattress you want made.
