Are you looking for something like this ? I've seen them in antique stores and stuff.

We got ours from Laura Ashley, it has another single bed that slides out underneath - we use it as our guest bed. There were tags all over it though saying no children under the age of 6 to sleep in it (I guess as the bars are too wide apart to be safe for their little heads). Hope that helps.
