Cots and beds

This topic is for discussing cots and beds. We've spent weeks researching and testing newborn beds in real homes with real families.

Do we need a crib. Won't a standard cot be ok for newborn?

We are lucky enough to gave space in our room for a standard cot so does baby really need a crib for starters or not? Will he/she feel lost in a cot. Puzzled.

Straight to cot is fine, or maybe a moses basket first? But they do grow out of these pretty quick so I'd prob stick with the cot if you do have room.

Babies are used to being in a small space... they'll like something smaller initially like a moses basket or crib, or if you're my DS you'll barely spend any time in the crib because we both liked co-sleeping too much :) I don't know why we even bought a cot.....

Mine started in a moses basket placed inside the cot.

Thanks.Grin Maybe we'll look for a Moses basket I like the idea that baby could be use that downstairs as well putting the basket in the cot.

We used moses basket downstairs during the day and cot upstairs at night
