Martin Lewis and Gas/Electric Increases

I watched this the other night on TV as I'm aware that our fixed rate runs out next week. Looking at our tariff now and the three options of what we could choose from - it's scary looking at how much our monthly payments could go up by.
I've been sat trying to make comparisons as the expected increases in October and then again by as much 24% increases in January make this almost impossible to calculate. I'm thinking of fixing for 18 months as incidents going on around the world make me think that things could get much worse.
The comparisons sites are indicating that a cheaper fix now is good but not all are allowing for October increases - how to make life difficult when you want actual facts and figures?!!

Op contact the energy companies directly??? Octopus are very good. Excellent UK based customer service and you talk to a human being.....no going round the houses pressing endless buttons.
They will give you a quote pretty quick.
I think its best to fix the price now before it goes up again

Have you gone on to MSE and look what's being advised there?
