Selling at an NCT sale- is it worth it?

Like most new parents we were overflowing with clothes for our son before he was born. What with our own shopping, hand me downs from family or gifts- we were very overwhelmed with what we had been given to us.

He’s now 6m. By the time it’s the next sale in our area he will be 11m.

I’m keeping back special pieces but I already have 2 suitcases of clothes to sell 🙃

I tried on Vinted but finding time to list, pack and post is difficult.

I’m considering selling a lot at the next NCT sale. I roughly know about registering, buying labels and writing them out and I think I’d rather tell my husband to go out for the day with our son, so I can focus on labelling it all up.

As lovely as it would be to donate them, I’d like to get something for them and put some money into his bank account and buy him the next bunch of clothes too!

Does anyone have any advice or tips for being a NCT seller?

thanks in advance 😊

I went to a sale and sold all my “kit” but sold no clothes at all. Things that sold were my small lightweight buggy ( bought by a grandma to keep at her house), bouncers, slings those types of things. I did eventually sell the special clothes in bundles but day to day stuff I just donated.

Seems like a lot of effort. I have always sold bundles rather than individual items - if you lay it all out on a bed and take pictures, it's easier and quicker. You will get less for it but it's much more likely to sell as people won't want to pay postage for one baby garment. If you don't want to do Vinted or similar you could always try and sell bundles through your local Facebook group or street Whatsapp.

If you’re going to have to label everything for the NCT sale anyway, is it that much more effort to just upload it on Vinted? I’ve always just snapped a very quick photo, written a line of text like “(size) boys t-shirt from (brand), no marks or stains” and nice stuff sells fast.

Vinted gives you a week or so to post the items, so you could just go one set day a week and send multiple items at once.
