If you havnt done so already, remember to fix your energy rates. It's going up in January again and on the increase. Use a comparison website (uSwitch or money supermarket) that looks across the market and remember it will depend on your postcode and how much energy you use.

It's worth checking if there's a penalty to get out.

I'm all electric so gas prices won't affect me but I have solar so better on Octopus Agile in summer and E7 in winter.

I was going to go on variable rate for this reason but they advised there is no exit fee so I'd be better to take the lower fixed price. Very helpful.
