Runaway food inflation and a store cupboard challenge?

I was looking at my grocery bills month on month, and they have gone up from £350 per month last January to £450 -£500 per month this January for 3 adults! We eat a lot of lentils- hence my name- and hardly ever eat meat ( DH will eat chicken once a week maybe). No processed food except crisps/chocolate/bread and no ready meals. No alcohol. This does include basic toiletries, detergent and cleaning supplies. Still way too much.

Going to try to cook out of my well stocked store cupboard this month and bring it down to £400 at least. Anyone want to join me?

No one? Or is everyone on the frugal living thread? I should probably join that.
