Nobody should be linking you to what is effectively pay day loan sharks.

instead why not describe your situation and seek help from people on this forum who have the wisdom and experience and kindness to help?

Payday loans are a bad idea. Tell us about your situation and see if we can help

Ok i work part time and receive disability benefit i get paid 1800 per month £650 rent ,food and bills usually leave me with about £400 a month but my 21 year old as just cotta new job and i have had to pay her rent travel expenses and her lunch money which as left me totally. Skint until i get paid on the 23rd but i still have a week with no money for either of us for food, busfare also my electric is due to go out, I don't have any family and don't know anyone where i live so my only hope is a payday loan for ppl with low credit scores, My score is low as i rarely had loans or hp. Do you have things around the house you don't need that you could sell? Or do you have a credit union near you, they're cheaper than payday loans.
If you have no food and no money could you go to the food bank? Not sure if you need referring or not.
Do you have food in that you could make basic meals from? Beans on toast etc

Also, speak to the energy company they might give you some emergency credit if it's only for a week

BarbaraofSeville · 16/10/2023 10:35

What do you mean about paying your 21 YO s rent?

Does she live somewhere else? Will she be paying you back when she gets paid?

You need to try and not pay her expenses if it leaves you short for essentials. She especially shouldn't need 'lunch money' if you're both struggling, she should take a packed lunch, much cheaper. Can she also walk to work not take the bus?

Definitely try your energy supplier for a grant or emergency credit and also a food bank referral.

Plus not the best solution but can either of you ask your current account bank for a small overdraft to tide you over?

AlmostAJillSandwich · 16/10/2023 14:01

Those 3 applications being rejected will be visible to anyone else you apply to and at this point you will likely get rejected from everyone, as they will deem you too high a risk, and it will have further negatively affected your score. Is a/bigger overdraft from your bank a possibility at all?

MrsMoastyToasty · 16/10/2023 23:58

Have you tried your local credit union? They are FCA regulated and will often lend for small amounts.

It may also be worth speaking to CAB or a debt advice charity (there's several in Bristol) to see if you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to , a food bank voucher and help with your fuel issues.

FreyafromLondon · 17/10/2023 00:33

Can you get an advance payment from disability benefits or universal credit? Try giving them a call OP.
If they say yes then they will just take it back in small amounts from your benefits. I hope you get it sorted soon

Contact James at depher.com. He's really lovely, and they're a community initiative that help the elderly, disabled, and those on low income.

He should be able to help you with some food shopping and credit to top up your meters.

Good luck. 💐

I was going to suggest credit union/food bank or apps like Olio/Too Good To Go for food.

That link re Depher looks good. Hopefully you can find some help.
