Any ideas on how to make money with AI?

There seems to be loads of people online making extra money with AI bits and bobs. Has anyone got any actual experience in how to monitise these free AI interfaces somehow? Or is it a massive MLM type thing where people are only selling guides to creating guides to sell to other people. I'm on mat leave and could use some extra income.

I've not actually done it, but you can upload AI-generated images (check the generator you use for commercial permissions) to print-on-demand places like Redbubble. They take a rather large percentage of sales, but it costs nothing to set up your own 'shop' on there. Worth looking at? Cue discussion of AI 'art', IP issues, plagiarism etc. etc. :)

You only hear from the ones that do make money, you don't here from the other 95% who don't make any money.

Also, ask yourself if it is so lucrative to monetise AI content why would they waste their time creating content telling others how to do the same and create potential competition for themselves? With clickbait titles and thumbnails on YouTube promising others ways to make thousands for little effort they probably make more money from that than AI - otherwise they would spend that time making more AI content

It is an MLM thing.

If you want to make extra money online, sign up to sites like Prolific where you can do paid surveys from home.

It's not always MLM.

Normally people 'make money' by using it in their existing niche or industry. So writing/marketing/social media posts/graphic design etc - you can increase your output hugely using AI.

Recently I read about a load of people who use AI to help them in their WFH jobs, and it saved them so much time, they took on another one or even two full time WFH positions. Effectively tripling their salary and getting AI to do most of the legwork Grin

I think it was this article: https://fortune.com/2023/04/15/ai-chatgpt-remote-workers-overemployed-multiple-full-time-jobs/

Thanks everyone, I was afraid it looked too good to be true. That said, I'm going to look at using it somehow to streamline my job when I go back to work thanks for the article @TibetanTerrah!

Chat GPT is pretty easy to learn. You can get some ideas for your own job using youtube and google, and even chat gpt itself - give it a rough outline of what you do day to day, and ask it how it can help you at work Grin

AI hallucinates and also be careful about sharing personal information. Be aware of the negatives also.

CreationNat1on · 21/09/2023 18:36

It is too good to be true, ask your HR if they have a policy around it. Breach of confidentiality, GDPR, incorrect or false results. Understand the negatives, before using it widely.

This. We have been warned that using any of the online programmes to draft documents using client data amounts to intentionally publicly disclosing confidential material (since they all keep everything input) and is gross misconduct that will almost inevitably lead to immediate dismissal.

Actually I would be really interested I. Any training anyone can recommend about AI use in the workplace. Thanks.

DynamicK · 24/09/2023 22:25

It's actually really useful to help you set up something but you have to direct it and put the work in.
I've got it to help me design a website, design a logo and outline content.
But the ideas are all mine and it's like an assistant. Whether I make money from it or not will be down to the work I put in.

madamreign · 07/10/2023 16:39

Anything you feed into AI, becomes a part of the AI.

So your work will be used to create content for others.

I work in marketplace in sales and marketing category. Whenever I work on articles writing I take help form ChatGPT for picking points or to elaborate the points. I don't take thoroughly from AI but it gives me ideas and I polish them to give final delivery. So, it is possible to make money with AI ie. ChatGPT etc. Thank you.

I work as a content creator. AI writes it for me, I proofread and tweak it to perfect it.

Don't work harder, work smarter. It's turned my hourly wage from £20 to £40, if not more.

There are numerous ways to make money with AI. For instance, many graphic designers now use AI to generate illustrations, posters, coloring books, and stickers, which they sell on platforms like Etsy, Amazon, and CreativeMarket.

Here is an article on how to sell stickers on Etsy that are made with AI.

A hot trend right now is selling AI art prompts - simple text phrases that you can use to create stunning artworks in various styles.

The AI art prompts look like this:

Prompt Template: "A [adjective] [scene] at [time of day], with [objects], in the style of [art style]."

Prompt Example: "A futuristic cityscape at sunset, with flying cars and neon lights, in the style of cyberpunk."
