How much is it in Aldi? We can’t recommend where us cheaper if we don’t know how much you are paying.
I think Asda have had up the frozen mince on offer recently but cheaper still would be using lentils instead of Quorn mince.
Is there an Iceland near you? They are often fairly cheap for many things compared to the big named supermarkets.

Asda regularly have them three for £5 which works out cheaper per kilo than aldi, I just stock up then as quite a saving👍

Tesco also does Quorn on 3 for 2 pretty often. I also find Iceland does really good veggie frozen convinience food.

WellThisIsFun1 · 08/07/2023 20:15

Farm foods?

HopefullyHopeless · 08/07/2023 20:16

Herons?

Does it have to be quorn? Aldi do their own brand of soya mince, meatballs, sausages which are all v nice. Tesco do vegetarian nuggets which dd2 prefers to quorn and are quite reasonable I think.

Iceland do a nice vegetarian burger, I think they are around £2 for 2. They often have deals on the veggie range.

You can compare prices using trolley.co.uk

For this sort of product, you can sometimes drop lucky in Heron or some of the other bargain freezer shops (I got Beyond products for 69 p a pack in there once) but they're hit and miss as to get bargains like this, it's end of line, short dated, or mis-shaped. All perfectly fine to eat, and a good way of saving money, but can't be relied on to buy regularly.

Failing the above, sometimes Tesco/Asda etc do 3 for 2 or similar, so a good time to stock up.

Thank you for all messages. If I remember correctly think was £2.95 for 24 nuggets and aldi and quorn sausages were the same prices. Yes i like using non branded products but son is quite fussy and only tends to eat the quorn brand. Good idea about 3 for 2 ill look out for that. Not got a heron foods near us. No Iceland but we do have a food warehouse which I think is same company as Iceland.

Good afternoon all,

my 7 year old has been complaining about chest pain for a while now, most of the time they just shoot up and he tells us about it. We went to the GP and we were adviced to keep a record of it. Yesterday, we went for a day out and walking back to the car park he started complaining and said he was finding it hard to stand up and walk and wanted to sit down. I encouraged him to drink water and we made it to the car, he said the pain was gone. I called this morning for a GP app and was told to take him straight to A&E. he was dressed for school and went to A&E, I called the school to let them know and left a voicemail. He had an ECG done and than God his heart is fine, we were told is something to do with his rib cage. He was well enough to go to school. I took him to school at 10:30. I explained to them why he was late. I just found out on the school app that he has been marked as late.
I am big on attendance and he has never been late even though I have to do two separate school drop offs he has never been late.
Is this normal for a school to mark him as late even though he was rushed to A&E this morning and I left them a voicemail.
I don’t want to look stupid if I email them as to why he was marked as late even though he has been to A&E and made it to school before before lunch.

I think maybe you need to start a thread of your own but schools can be funny about attendance. My dd was only allowed half a day for a hospital appointment even though it was 11am and took at least 1hr40mins to get there (possibly more due to having to change buses). They wouldn't budge on it either.

But on another note quorn mince is currently £1.50 a bag in sainsburys
