Cost of living payments

My gas and electricity account is in debt of £300. If you are in a similar situation will you use your next cost of living payment to pay the debt on your gas and electricity? I'm wondering if that's what I should do with mine otherwise it will get swallowed up towards other bills. Of course consumption will go down now that it's lighter and hopefully getting warmer so that £300 might steadily disappear over the summer as I pay £120 a month on direct debit on a variable tariff. This last winter was spent mainly cold as I'm sure it was for lists of people. I'm dreading next winter.

I would, I'd want to be at zero for the start of May.
