EON - end of Govt subsidy

Anyone else with EON had their April payment taken already?

My DD was reduced automatically by the £66 a month that the government were subsidising for Oct-Mar. I had therefore expected the DD to be automatically put back to the normal amount when this ended.

Checked my account today and it would seem not. I’ve had to manually adjust it back to the pre Oct value. Just incase else is in same boat and hasn’t noticed they need to it.

Mine hasn't been adjusted either. Are they actually saying it has to be manually adjusted by customers? that seems an odd way of going about it, rather than Eon doing it.

I got an email from them stating that the direct debit is changing but you are right, the April bill was the same as the March one.
Having said that the email says that the price increase with take effect from May onwards.

Your Direct Debit needs to change.
We've checked if your monthly Direct Debit (DD) payment is set to the right
amount and it needs to change to £xxx starting with your May
payment. For more info on why your DD is changing, visit eonnext.com/dd.
Get in touch if you need to speak to us about your payments.

I haven’t had anything from them, but when I logged on it recommended increasing DD to exactly what I was paying before. I went ahead and it says effective 1st May. Glad I checked, last thing I want to to fall into debt with them!

I had an email from them saying I needed to change my direct debit. I ended up arguing with them and getting them to put it back. I massively overpaid last year so I could maintain a credit balance over winter and haven't gone into debit, so they can get lost! If it looks like I need to I'll change it then

Thanks for this, just manually changed mine .

PositiveLife · 05/04/2023 15:45

Yeah, I noticed this too...but tbh I thought I'd just leave it lower in case they decide to change them all when they realise. I'll just manually pay the extra £66 if needed this month

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/04/2023 14:53

I emailed to ask what they want me to do but haven't had a reply yet. I can pay manually in May while they sort themselves out - I have my heating allowance in a savings account along with £66 paid in each month during the govt subsidy scheme.
