Martin Lewis did a peace on this yesterday on good morning Britain which explained that unless you really want to no exactly what your outgoings would be, you are better off not taking this price fix as prices are expected to fall by more than what this fix is. So if predictions are correct (which they might not be) you could end up paying more on this tariff than off it. So I agree with you OP, best to wait for now.
