Eon have taken my energy support payment back.

Yesterday Eon reversed my 2 x £66 support payments and withdrew it from my account credit.

When I queried it they said it’s because I have solar panels.

Everything online says that all households get it. I do import electricity as well as generate it, so it’s not that I’m profiting from the payment.

Has anyone else with solar panels had theirs withdrawn?

DD2 is with Eon and has solar panels. They’ve used the £66-67 payment to reduce her direct debit (which seems the wrong way to do it to me as we’re all going to be using more in £££ than last year 🤔) but haven’t clawed it back.
I don’t know though if it’s also Eon she gets the payments from. She only moved in a year ago and it took some time to get the inf from previous owners and sort it all out.
Glad you’re getting it returned, anyway, OP!

I haven’t contacted ofgen…yet.

Amongst all this is an issue that I mistakenly gave an incorrect gas reading 14 months ago. They’ve reversed payments and changed my bill numerous times. I suspected I’d paid too much but decided to just leave it as it seemed to have been settled.

Well, when they took my support payment, they also charged me about £25 for ‘a missed billing period’ during that reading debacle. So I’ve decided to do a full reconciliation this week and check. It’ll take some time because of all the different unit prices but I’m going to.

so if that is wrong, I’ll combine that with the complaint.

Still not actually had my support payment returned yet either!

A quick update because it’s frustrating when you stumble upon a thread with no resolution - my payments were finally returned today.
