Got my first 'energy shift' tonight, 5.30-6.30pm.

Anyone else doing it?

I got this “You reduced your energy usage by 78% which means you'll get £0.76 credited to your account”

JackandVera · 26/11/2022 09:53

Interesting!

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 30/11/2022 10:14

I got an email last night for another one tonight: 5.30-6.30 again

VenusStarr · 30/11/2022 19:47

I still haven't had my results from last week 🧐

We did tonight's - we were out so am sure we met that one. Another one tomorrow!

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 30/11/2022 22:14

DW turned the power back on and boiled the kettle at 6.28, so if I don't reach target for today then that's why!

DC are still enjoying the novelty of it, and looking forward to another one tomorrow

Ciri · 30/11/2022 22:29

My energy provided doesn’t offer this yet BUT we did have a real power cut at about 5.30 and all my lights stayed on because of my emergency power cut light bulbs. I was talking outside to a neighbour when the street lights all went out and my neighbour said “it can’t be a power cut because your lights are still on!”. Result!!

Lxt28 · 02/12/2022 15:52

My email said save around 41p but I did it and actually got £1.53 back and only turned the TV off x

SkylightSkylight · 02/12/2022 15:54

Ilikewinter · 22/11/2022 12:02

Im doing the Octopus version, i saved 15p last time 🤣🤣

@Ilikewinter Dont spend it all at once!!

SkylightSkylight · 02/12/2022 16:03

I'm with BG & I havent heard anything about it (not sure they're doing it) I'll do it if they offer the option, but I'm not sure it'll help much (saving electricity) as I don't use that much 💁🏻‍♀️

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 02/12/2022 16:09

£2.62 for Wednesday - bloody DW and that kettle! 😡😂

For those whose suppliers aren't running it, Loop are running a turn down and save scheme, paying £3 per kwh saved in amazon vouchers. You can also opt into it even if your supplier do their own scheme; you can only take part in one scheme though.

VenusStarr · 02/12/2022 16:16

£1.87 for us, was a 71% reduction this time. Never heard about last week's one...

RedSnail · 04/12/2022 09:44

68% reduction and 38p received for me

VenusStarr · 04/12/2022 14:02

That's weird @RedSnail wonder how they work out what to credit?

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 04/12/2022 20:44

I’m with Eon but haven’t been contacted yet? Is someone able to post a link please? I can’t see anything on the website.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 04/12/2022 20:52

Just found this on their website…who is ‘eligible’ to take part?

£3.39 for my third session (100% energy reduction). Pays for a day of heating, ish

VenusStarr · 12/12/2022 15:28

Got another one tonight for 2 hours, between 5-7pm! I've opted in but its very unlikely meet it today, it's absolutely freezing and 2 hours is a long time, especially at peak evening meal time. We'll see.

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 12/12/2022 16:18

I'm doing it too - put the heating on early to pre-warm the house 😁 (as it will shut off automatically when I turn the power off)

DC aren't here, and both me and DW are ill so we're in bed anyway!

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 14/12/2022 21:39

Bastards can afford to do this then put unit costs up on time of use tariffs that already reduce peak time usage 😡

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 15/12/2022 14:00

Aw shit, is it going up by much?

Good name btw 😁 (I just did a rewatch, hoping for news of a new season soon)

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 16/12/2022 08:56

Love your name too!

Over 11% for my heating and hot water.

Over 5% increase my peak rate but that is already more expensive so it is up to 44.5p per unit.
