Key points so far:

• Upper tax threshold dropped from £150k to £125k
• Other tax thresholds frozen until 2028
• Windfall tax on energy firms to go up to 35%
• Electric cars will have to pay VED from 2025
• Review of a further pension age rise brought forward
• More people on UC to be given 'support coaches' to help them find work
• Spending squeeze on all depts except health

I thought most people on UC were already in work.

Me too. Hunt says 600,000 people on UC will get this 'support'.

Actually, seems like a slight of hand with the wording...

"To this end, he announces he will ask over 600,000 more people on universal credit people to meet with work coach "so they can get the support they need to increase their work hours or earnings."

No word yet on energy bills...

I think it's aimed at people who are part time / low wage, are now been pushed to increase their hours. I few people I know, have been sent work coach appointments in the last week or so, which they haven't had for years.

....and yet no mention on providing more affordable childcare!

So not increasing benefits by 10 percent even though most people on benefits work?

Nothing about benefits increases yet...

Not silly at all. Yes, if they are going to do it they will announce today I think. Hunt is still talking so may get round to it soon.

Below inflation increases for the NHS and education, dressed up as a spending increase.

• HS2 still on
• Energy bills to go up by about 20% again (!!!!) in April, as a result of lower government help

• Benefits just announced: 10% increase

• National living wage to increase by about £1 an hour

• pensions up by 10% also

And yet public sector pay rise will be 2% again

£900 cost of living help.

Yes, 2% for the NHS and 4% for Education,

I didnt see anything about council tax limit being abolished as rumoured so assume that has remained

Also £150 cost of living help for disabled.
