found this. The story of the bloke giving up alcohol is complaining that he can only work a few hours becaue he is on housing beneit. Hee said what can I do. The annswer is get a full time job come off housing benefit and then he will be able to worrk longer hours. Yes when you are unemployed you get housing beneit but then you look for full time employment and come off beneits
It does not make any sense to me to stay on housing benefits and work 16 hours becaue any more would mean your housing beneits are stopped and then sit and complain about the stuation. You get a full time job, come off housing benefits an then pay your rent.

He is in supported living which is an indication that this man has some sort of disability that means he needs support to live independently which will impact him securing a job that will pay enough so he can pay his rent. My own son was in supported living and his rent was £280 per week which without housing benefit he could not afford as what job would my mentally ill son at 19 with limited education get that paid £400 in order for him to live?

Maybe do some research before you judge.

He is a care leaver in supported living. Clearly its not as simple for him as just getting a full time job.
