apps to help with budgeting/saving money

I'm taking part in a contest to develop an app or website that helps with the cost of living crisis, it has to be something unique and I'm struggling to think of a good idea. What would actually be helpful right now? I was thinking of something around limiting food waste or maybe a community thing where everyone helps each other and goes on a scoreboard to win cash, maybe paid for my the local parish council or something? As I say I'm struggling! Any ideas welcome

I would pick a direction you want to go in and work from there. An app that sign posts all the cheap ways of getting food based on your are including community freezers, too good to go etc. Or an app that is similar but which can be used in rural areas where these things are not taken up. There’s also things like community tool boxes which you could create an app for to support the structure and working?
