Hi all
Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. We are due to move house and will move from octopus to British Gas. Does this mean we won't get the energy rebate of £66 a month?
Tried to contact current supplier to no avail
Thanks in advance

The rebates are monthly so you will get some from old company and some from new.

I'm guessing we have to stay with the new provider (Brit gas). I really want to be on octopus!

Everyone gets it automatically why wouldn’t you?

Suppliers receive the money to pass on monthly, you should receive your rebate from whomever is your supplier on the first of each month (even if you receive it later in the month) .

I'm sure you can move to Octopus at your new property. Might need to phone to do it rather than doing it online

Apparently you can tell them online that you're moving and they can take over the supply at the new property

We moved late last year and just called our provider with our last day reading and told them our new address and new reading, they also let us keep our fixed tariff as we was fixed until Oct 2023. Sorry not about the rebate but you should be able to stay with same provider.

I don’t think Octopus are accepting new customers are they?

dementedpixie · 10/10/2022 13:06

OP won't be a new customer
And yes you can also call to be taken on as a new customer
