Have you got a calor gas heater/fire

I have an all electric house which makes heating in winter expensive.
I have been wondering if a calor gas heater would be a good idea.
I buy the gas bottle and no surprise bills.
If you have one how many hours does the bottle last?

Would you recommend it?
Thanks

If you are thinking of getting one without a flue, be prepared for lots of condensation.

I doubt it will cost any less than using electricity.

We have one in the lounge and when we use it it really heats up the room, though it is a closed room, not open plan.

When we had open plan, i.e. lounge open to the stairs it did heat upstairs a bit as well. We tend to have it on for an hour or so in the afternoon/ early evening when it's a bit nippy but not cold enough for the central heating. Will be using it a lot more this year as my dh is a hot person and hates a hot bedroom and I'm menopausal, some benefit there!
If you do get one I suggest you get 2 canisters, so when one runs out you've got a replacement, as you can guarantee it's gonna run out at 10 o'clock on a Sunday night!
We have a vent into the gas flue/ chimney thing set right behind it and we've never had a condensation issue, but we do have a lot of windows on the vent/ partly open thing all year. I'm also a great believer in opening windows every day, even if just for an hour.
I'll be using it a lot more this year, as it's paid for before you use it.
