Emergency Frugaleer thread

For some reason MNHQ have decided to hide the new thread. Maybe because it had lots of dodgy links to Money Saving Experts, Independent Foodbank, Bootstrap Cook and others.

Anyway until it is un hidden here is another dull un liniked emergency thread...

Periodically check the new link b/c it had all our collective ideas on.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA. I have been cutting down internet use a bit and also just been busy but I have been wondering how everyone was.
Is it ok if I come back??
Off to Lidl this morning to buy a few bits like fruit, veg and cheese. Hoping we can mainly use up cupboard stuff for the next couple of weeks but need some fresh stuff.
Trying to do Easter hols cheaply too. Luckily the weather has helped as we have been able to go to the park/for walks and not spend much. So far I have spent £12 on us all getting the train into town and £9 on a round of ice creams at the park.
Our food bills have been horrendous though Sad

So I’m staying home today. The kids appear to have passed on a tummy bug. Super.

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2022 15:22

So you have been a very naughty Unescorted have you 😂😂
As if ! l mean wtf is going on!
Never mind, hopefully everyone will find us soon enough 🤗💐

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2022 15:23

No half-price Easter eggs here either. I was so looking forward to buying a great big pile 😂😂😂😂

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2022 15:24

Hope you feel a lot better now Em 💐

ememem84 · 19/04/2022 16:03

I’m ok.

I’ve moved from bed to couch. Watching greys anatomy.

Mrsmadevans · 19/04/2022 16:39

Excellent choice Em glad you are feeling better 💐👌

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/04/2022 17:15

The new season em or on catch up
Not a single Easter egg here. Are chocolate eggs just an English thing?

Spends here but meh

ememem84 · 19/04/2022 18:29

Catch up. I’m on season 5.

Timetoswitch · 19/04/2022 18:40

We got some 19p crème eggs yesterday, none left today.

We got a £20 gift voucher as our accommodation wasn’t ready when we arrived.
So that’s covering the bits and pieces we forgot to bring/pack.

Spoke to CAB today about the dparent issue, not much that can be done Sad although some info from dparent could change it, but it is currently like getting blood out of a stone to discuss it. But I’ve tried.

I love greys em. I think I’m currently part way through season 11 for the third time, I think this is one of the best seasons.

northender · 19/04/2022 20:40

Back from hot, sunny climes. Just marking spot, will catch up in a bit

Timetoswitch · 19/04/2022 21:14

Your original thread is now working unescorted

ememem84 · 20/04/2022 07:09

Working from home today. Feel a million times better but think it’s best I stay home today just in case.

Unescorted · 20/04/2022 07:19

The new thread is now working..... apparently it is being reinstated but may be looked at again. I am still at a loss as to what caused an issue. Anyway the link is here

I am in never ending Hmrc phone queue hell. Also an expensive day here with haircut, a requirement for new rugby boots before tomorrow and a trip to the vets for a little sexual-drive intervention later on
