Frugal sunny day chores

Was just wondering which house chores I could do on sunny days to save on electricity?

I.e do all the laundry so it can air dry instead of using tumble. I’ve just washed the sofa covers and they’re on the line too.

Is there anything else? Or is that it? Smile

Washing the car/windows.

Cleaning behind furniture - I use a dustpan and brush to get into through corners my vacuum cleaner can't reach. I move things into the garden to give me more room.

Washing windows - it’s more to do with the sun being at the right angle than sunny per se.

Sunny days are nice for garden picnic lunches of sandwiches or salads which saves on cooking.

Using an aqua vac or hiring a rug doctor to clean your carpets if they need doing. Won't save money today but might prolong the life of carpets.

Thank for these replies! I didn’t get any notifications to say anyone replied so this was a lovely surprise Smile

Typically it hasn’t been sunny since!

Picnic / salad in the garden - OF COURSE! Haha why did we never think of that?? Grin

It won't save electric but make sure windows are open, especially if your house is prone to damp.

You can do garden maintenance. Gets you outside and not in the house burning electricity, you can have lunch in the garden (sandwiches etc so no cooking)

Also you can wash curtains and throws or pet bedding if you have pets.

Looking forward to the sunny weather too @Colliewobbles123 Smile

Sewing repairs to clothes. These are much easier in bright daylight when you can see what you are doing easily and don't need to put the lights on.

Great replies! The sewing one is a huge thing for me thanks to my son needing endless scout badges sewn onto his jumpers and I just can’t bloody see!! 😂

If he’s a scout he should be sewing his own badges!!
clearing out the garage or shed is a good sunny day task. Cleaning the car.
