Cheapest way to get lots of particular Lego pieces?

Not literally one specific type but the various elbows, ball joints, hinges, that kind of thing.

I know there’s the pick a brick thing at actual Lego stores, but not sure if that works out better than buying specific things on eBay (and we don’t live near a Lego store so can’t really check)

Any thoughts would be welcome!

Don't make a specific trip to a Lego store, they are unlikely to have the kind of pieces you want.
Price up what you want from the website
www.lego.com/en-gb/page/static/pick-a-brick - minimum order is twelve quid but each individual pice should be a few pence so that would get you a lot.

DH uses a site called Bricklink for individual lego bits

We’ve ordered individual pieces from Toypro.

Bricklink are also good.

If you've got the time look on eBay for Lego bundle or Lego kg and you'll find mixed collections of Lego, or if you know the set it's from look on eBay for Lego(set number). Will work out cheaper second hand.

Thank you all, that’s great! It’s just a range of pieces DS needs more of really (he makes lots of transforming/articulated figures) rather than one particular thing.

I’m glad you said about the pick a brick as now I think about it you’re right, they do tend to be more of the coloured regular bricks rather than the unusual pieces.

Brick owl and bricklink are both good web sites to check.

Every brick has a numerical code that makes searching easier. You can also find them by name.

Obviously it does help keep shipping costs down if you can find a seller with a few of the different bricks you want.

I get ds bundles of interesting bricks for his Christmas stocking and they’re one of his favourite presents.
