A new thread in case we are too tipsy (or in my case, asleep on the sofa) to remember later.

This is a friendly group where we chat all things money related and all things everything else related. Everyone welcome so settle in and let’s make 2018 the year we save money!

Usually it's us who end up on the edge of the bed while the cat starfishes emitting enough heat to toast marshmallows.

Unescorted She's very talented, why does she doubt herself?.

Cagliostro · 06/01/2018 22:17

Not caught up yet just popping in before I attempt to get more sleep, Cagletini is about to go in her bed hopefully. NSD for me, DH bought bus tickets to the circus and dinner

Amazing art, wow!!! 😍

FridgeCut · 06/01/2018 22:25

Those drawings are amazing!

Wolfcub · 06/01/2018 22:26

Fabulous artwork Unescorted. Your dd is amazing

Cagliostro · 06/01/2018 22:41

Hmm well I was a little premature on the whole sleep thing.

wreck we do have a food processor, a lovely magimix (wedding present) and it is amazing but alas no counter space so can't really use it ATM. Same with the slow cooker! In a dream kitchen we will have counter space for both as well as a bread bin etc. Currently even the chopping board doesn't fit anywhere 😳

I am looking forward to a quiet day tomorrow. The last week has been very busy and social so I need some hibernation! DD has managed a week off her meds too but it's taken its toll on all of us so I'm glad she is allowed back on it now.

Need to at least spend some time with the diary tomorrow though doing frugal things and getting organised.

Amazing art!!

Yep sore boobs were my first inkling that I might be up duffed Grin

It might be that wreck but her message was in such poor English I really struggled to understand it plus she dropped weird things into the message like she had just had a shower 😕😐Hmm will see if she turns up wed! !

Am liking all the meal plans and batch cooking, I need to get better at that but tricky as dd and I are both a bit fussy, the only thing I batch cook currently is bolegnaise.

I think scurvy is on the rise fluffy

AdoraBell · 06/01/2018 22:47

Sore boobs were my first symptom too, and a feeling of “different” that I couldn’t define and have never felt since then. I just knew I felt different.

DH bought pub lunch, no idea how much. I spent £4, again, on coffees, and £11 in the butchers. I’ve asked DD1 to cut my hair tomorrow Shock it’s long and decidedly un-styled so just needs a straight (ish) line.

Cagliostro · 06/01/2018 22:59

Ah well girlie at least you will be safe meeting her in a public place :o

Sorry about typos earlier, I was rushing.

On the night tube back from Karaoke now. No idea what we spent as friend paid and will let us know what we owe tomorrow. It will be lots though as we did 4 hours Shock.

That artwork is truly fantastic. That’s real talent!

ChristmasSeacow · 07/01/2018 07:41

Morning. Bed at 3am, DCs up at 6.30. That’ll learn us.

WreckTangled · 07/01/2018 08:26

Oh no seacow! Did you have a good night though? You should take it in turns for a nap today.

I've only just got up. I really want dh to make pancakes but I know he won't.

Today will be a nsd and spent tidying and getting everything ready for the dc going back to school tomorrow.

Unescorted · 07/01/2018 08:49

Thanks for the kind words. I obviously think that she is da Vinci in modern girl form. Fluffy it is a combination of things. She takes hours over a drawing so knows where all the faults are and they jump out at her when she looks at them. She gets it in the neck from her art teacher because she does very little drawing in class because she hates an audience and is reluctant to do things publically that aren't guaranteed to be perfect. The art teacher is rightly frustrated with her and doesn't appear to give her praise. I am aware that it is DD' s word on this. The final nail is that everyone falls over themselves to tell us how amazing her brother is - he is considered a "name" in adventure / endurance cycling and is top setted at school. She refers to him as Golden Child - it is a commentary on how people react to him rather than sibling rivalry. They are as thick as thieves when they are together.

Girlie at least it is in a public place.

Seacow MORNING 😁

mammymammyIRL · 07/01/2018 08:53

Two days to catch up on Shock
Seacow GrinGrin sympathy to you today
I'm now mute, lost my voice fri night, therefore couldn't go to after party of wedding last night saving €'s plus temp was -1 at 9pm so I'm glad I wasn't out driving

Discovered an app called DressUp for selling clothes so going to upload some dresses on that in an attempt to declutter & make some €'s

Unescorted those drawings are amazing

Today will be day 7 of red January, so far I've run 11 miles, today will be short because I'm trying to get better.

Peonies if your soup is homemade I'd love recipe please, signs for me were feeling different & unexplained heartburn, second time around I knew by the heartburn before doing test

Wreck we also have this milk issue, I use roasted almond milk, now I buy enough for week & freeze

Cag I do shop and scan it's a faff once a week but earns us €130 a year in vouchers so well worth it IMO

Going to bake my weetabix no bake brownies today for treats at work for myself, will need to get dates in Aldi but nothing else for them. Will check how food is when I get home with respect to weekly shop, last delivery was Tues & myself & dc have been away since Thurs

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/01/2018 08:54

Artists don't usually work under supervision though do they? It's an artificial setting for an artist to do so.

mammymammyIRL · 07/01/2018 08:55

Dsil suggested Airbnb for when dsd & family eventually move out, must see what dh thinks.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 07/01/2018 08:56

Dear god seacow I would be incapable of typing after 3 hours sleep - good luck!
Last day off today, back at work tomorrow with an epic day starting at 0845 and ending at 11pm. Need to get on with prepping and also sorting admin things but slept in (had alarm set for 7am!)
Am meeting a colleague for coffee to discuss his PGCE portfolio but otherwise should be an NSD.

mammymammyIRL · 07/01/2018 09:07

Wow peonies long day at work tomo for you
Ds was just trying out an app on my phone & it wouldn't work and I said it's not working to which he replied 'Mammy, could you please be quiet'

mammymammyIRL · 07/01/2018 09:08

Peonies hopefully the sleepless nights are all ahead of you Wink

mammymammyIRL · 07/01/2018 09:14

This week will be car insurance quote week for me, I'll wait until 10th to start because they're valid for 30 days & that's the date mine expires so will save me doing the job twice, hopefully my current insurers will have sent renewal by then as a guide. Don't know if topcashback do quotes for Ireland but will check

ememem84 · 07/01/2018 09:15

Should be lsd today. We’re going for breakfast in a bit with dfriends. But it’s not an expensive place. Estimate £20 for the 4 of us adults.

I ended up in the spare room last night - woke up at 3 coughing and couldn’t stop. Figured I’d be better off in there rather than disturb dh and ds.

Found a poop from catface opposite her litter tray as well. I think I scared her yesterday when she was in there and she jumped out and scampered off probably taking poop with her. It was covered in litter so she definetly hasn’t done it on the floor. Oops.

WreckTangled · 07/01/2018 09:28

He gave in!

We’ve had our Merry Thriftmas, now bring on the Happy Fru Year! All welcome as we Frugaleer our way into January 2018.
Bornlazy · 07/01/2018 10:00

Seacow hope you get a nap today and that your dd sleeps tonight for you.

Cleaned out ds2's wardrobe today as he couldn't find any jeans that fitted him Hmm. There are a few things that I might try and sell that are expensive makes like North Face, Ralph Lauren and Hype, but is eBay more hassle than it's worth? I've never sold anything before.

Should be NSD today. £45 yesterday on essentials from Asda ( does flavoured water count as essential? Ds1 certainly thinks so) to be collected today.

No takeaway this weekend which was major achievement.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/01/2018 10:23

I would reckon it would be worth giving eBay a go with labels like that born

I'm still in bed! Have been in bed 12 hours and asleep for 11!! Last day of my week off so making the most of it 😆

Today's plan is to go to a friends daughters bday party which is near Lyme Regis and then go into Lyme afterwards for a walk and fish and chips. Hopefully a nice last day before going back to work tomos. It's going to be a shock getting out of bed at 6.45 tomos!!!

Taytocrisps · 07/01/2018 10:33

DD was sick during the night but I think it's a PMS symptom Sad. I'm not sure if she'll be well enough to go to the family lunch today. She's having a nap now so I'll see how she feels when she wakes up.

Enjoy your trip into Lyme Girlie

LonelyOversharer · 07/01/2018 10:40

bornlazy ebay is very good for top brands. Just be very careful with your pics and if anything put in too much description, so there are no grey areas. So mention any little marks, so they don't complain the speck under the collar wasn't mentioned and they want their money back. Yswim. And double check your postage, and if it's going to be over £20 or so, send it signed for, as thats the easiest way of buyers getting free stuff, "it never arrived" (i phone 5), well here is a screenshot of your signature on delivery... I find the app very easy for listing stuff. You get the hang of it.

Vat day today. It shouldn't take me long. I left the log in and till reciepts at the shop, so will do a tip run when I go to get them.
