Thanks need and Flowers for collie ...

SnugglySnerd · 07/08/2016 17:47

Been for a lovely walk along the canal today. Lots of blackberries ripe already and some elderberries. Also spotted either some sloes or damsons I can never remember which is which. Will be going back soon with some Tupperware!

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 17:51

I did something really silly. A little while ago I saw a festival which looked cool and we didn't have anything to look forward to so I booked four tickets thinking we could go with some friends. Problem is we can't find anyone to go with as they're all busy and I can't really be bothered to go now! I'm £165 down. Have advertised on fb selling sites but no interest Sad

Colliefeatures · 07/08/2016 17:52

Thanks for the heads up regarding Playmobil on The Christmas Thread and Amazon! Exciting!! I love Lego and Playmobil way too much Wink

I'm finding it really odd weather here. It's going from hot sunshine to really chilly wind throughout the day.

We're so weary. And strangely DS is FULL of beans! Typical!

dwinnol · 07/08/2016 18:37

Oh Wreck don't feel bad about it. You thought It would be a lot of fun but it hasn't worked out. Can you sell them back to the site you bought them from? I know some of the ticket distributors provide this service though you wouldn't get back what you paid for them. Or is there a FB page for the festival and have you tried to sell there? If you offered a deal maybe you could recoup some of the money?

In all cases I would try my best to chalk it up to experience and not beat myself up about it.

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 19:00

I have put them on at a discounted price. I'm so annoyed. I still think it would be really good but we're so busy at the moment it seems like a lot of hassle

Colliefeatures · 07/08/2016 19:06

wreck we've done that a couple of times! Don't feel bad. Hope you find a buyer.

DH noticed that DS's t shirts were old and too small. So I popped on to Vertbaudet and bought 5 t shirts in their sale for £10 + £3.95 delivery. Then I found a voucher code for an additional 30% off and free delivery. So pleased!! Frugal win! DS has everything else he needs from other sales. Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/08/2016 19:42

Hope you sell the wreck. Chalk it up to experience, although it's annoying. I've done that before to

Collie re playmobil the Christmas lot reccon sign up to German Amazon it's cheaper there, depends on exchange rate which is shit at the minute. I've never tried it but they say it's fine. I just stick with UK bargains and the UK playmobil newsletter.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/08/2016 19:43

My nsd was not, took dc swimming £9 inc parking

McNo · 07/08/2016 19:46

Thank you for the info Collie

I just ordered 5 tshirts in the sale and googled for the 30% discount code with free delivery. Bargain at £7.50

This thread has helped me so much already in just a few days

Colliefeatures · 07/08/2016 19:52

That's how much I ended up paying too McNo! girlie recommended vertbaudet last year! Smile

lilacclery · 07/08/2016 19:52

Welcome to all the newbies
methenyou have you access to a work pc that you could use at lunchtime or after you finish work? Just to initially set up ynab? It is possible but a bit more difficult to do the budgeting part on your phone.
I'm another ynab fan it's really helping me pay down my cc.

Some of my tips for saving money
Buy enough bread & milk for week & freeze them, no popping to shop for them & coming out with €30 spent & little to show for it.
Use cheapest bath gel you can find instead of liquid soap saves £'s

Someone asked about TESCO cc I'm paying mine down but also using it to pay bills to save points for our holidays next year

Usually don't work Saturdays but have worked about 4 hours the last 3 which is at 1.5 pay, used it to pay down cc last two weeks & using yesterday's to pay off a guys account at my work as he helped my dh find his current job.

Spends this weekend
Friday night dinner €36.50 tip €3.50 drinks €26.00 bus €10 €80 making friends with 11 of my female neighbours over a great meal & some drinks so worth it.
Sat €1.40 on Daily Mail newspaper, my weekly treat as it contains a magazine
Today was joint account spends €65 in mr price on washing powder, cleaning supplies, snacks & craft supplies and some items for decorating our kitchen
€125 in aldi, this is everything for the week. Budget is €140 so over that by €40 but a good stock up done.

Hoping to go camping next sat night, my friend has offered us her tent & I bought sleeping bags half price a few weeks ago. If I like it we'll buy a tent in the sales Smile

WreckTangled · 07/08/2016 20:30

Just won a trunki with tote bag on eBay for £16. Is in the same town I work so can easily collect. Might save it for Christmas for ds as we wot need it before then.

8FencingWire · 07/08/2016 21:47

Spent £50 in Lidl, that included £10.99 on a tall plant for my room. I must not spend a single penny this whole week :)
I've booked another shift for a bit more extra money. DD's still away with her dad and I miss her, so I am keeping busy :)
I am tired though. Hope everyone has a good week.

Methenyouplus4 · 07/08/2016 22:54

Lillacc- thank you. I borrowed my parents laptop to set it up. When I follow your link it's just 34 day trial-is that just because it's UK site I would be using?

lilacclery · 07/08/2016 23:32

Maybe me they will give you an extension usually! Do you get paid weekly or monthly?

dwinnol · 08/08/2016 06:32

Morning all. It's back to work for me today after a week off. Should be a LSD after a big Aldi shop yesterday for £76.
DD has to go into town to collect her new glasses and I have to be there apparently so I shall resist her attempts to go home via Topshop Smile
Hope you all have a lovely thrifty day.

WreckTangled · 08/08/2016 06:43

I'm working today. And tomorrow (6:45-6!) then weds we're going to see Matilda then I'm working Thursday and Friday too. I don't know how you full timers do it Grin

lilacclery · 08/08/2016 06:53

You work a lot of hours too wreck
This morning is particularly hard getting up to go to work. Dd has 3 weeks left of her holidays Sad

I'm going to take some of her last week off.

Just made my lunch & snacks so today will be a NSD

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/08/2016 07:44

Nsd planned famous last words
Dc are going conoeing then to grandparent for the week.

McNo · 08/08/2016 08:02

Low spend day planned as I'm at work. Have a great day everyone Smile

Methenyouplus4 · 08/08/2016 08:27

Lilac- I get paid monthly, as does hubby but we do have other payments that go in at various points (tax credits etc).

Today £85 spend-buying x2 pet rabbits, a hutch and a run from local lady who is moving abroad. Other than that (big expense) no spending as going for a walk and picnic with family. Actually, we might need a couple of quid for parking. Hopefully we can hunt around and find some loose change in the house for it.

Ememem84 · 08/08/2016 08:33

Nsd planned. Holiday day 1!! Dh is taking paddleboard to the beach again. I might tag along and sit and read my book.

Whataboutwhathuh · 08/08/2016 08:37

Ds1 started the day wrenching in my bed. He didn't actually throw up but we will be staying at home today to see what occurs.

Colliefeatures · 08/08/2016 08:45

NSD today I think as we're stuck at home waiting for a delivery. Might walk to the shop for a chocolate milkshake 50p but depends when our delivery arrives.

probably won't arrive until tomorrow

Hopefully my new bank will send me my info and then I can start organising family finances. I'm actually excited!
