Can somebody please help me with matched betting?

I am having some trouble with matched betting. Can someone please help?

I am trying this for the first time. I am trying to earn more money for my family.

I am using www.savethestudent.org/make-money/what-is-matched-betting.html#comments as a guide.

Here is what I have done so far:

Back bet - Leicester City vs Sunderland

Paddypower - I bet £10 that Leicester City will win (odds of 2.25)

Betfair - I placed a lay bet that Leicester City would not win (odds of 2.30) Liability amount = £12.88.

Result = Sunderland 0-2 Leicester City

Paddypower total return - £22.50 plus £10 free bet NOT £30 free bet like the guide says I should get.

Free bet - Deportivo La Coruna v Las Palmas (tommorow - 11/04/16)

Paddypower - I used my £10 free bet to bet that it would be a draw (odds of 3.25)

But according to the guide I should have had a £30 free bet to use!! Instead I only have £10.

Why is this?

Will it still work?

Should I bet another £20 from my remaining balance to bring it up to £30?

My remaining balance is £22.50

They put offers and free bets on constantly, I made around £55 tonight on the Wales game (risk free) on a couple of existing bookies, you just need to put qualifying bets on, which are risk free also as you bet against your own bet to then get a free bet... Meaning a guaranteed profit

I signed up to bonus bagging last night and am so confused! I have read the videos and understand the concept but never having bet before I am completely clueless about what to do. It took me about an hour last night to place my first bet and I'm still not convinced I did it right! Can someone reassure me that it will get easier and I will get quicker?!

Definitely gets easier, I spent hours my first day, 2 weeks later I spend less than an hour a day on it

Thanks katelottie. My main problem at the moment is the amount of money I have to transfer into my Betfair account to lay the bets. I guess that shows how clueless I really am! The problem is I am doing it to make money and so don't actually have much actual money to play with! I'm hoping once some of my bets come in (a couple tomorrow and a couple the next day) that situation will ease?!

Those of you that are pros, do you place bets every night?

Yeah it can get quite high! Money pigz list all the offers in beginner/intermediate and advanced so you do all the easier ones first, I skipped a few of them because of the high liability until I had a good pot of winnings that I could then use.... Just do what you can and the winnings will soon start adding up it doesn't take long, good luck!

I have a friend who dies this full time to supplement his savings (he doesn't work) and makes around £800-£1000 per month.

Although I do say to him that the amount of time he spends doing it he might as well go out to work! Can see the advantage though, no commuting being the main one.

As you say though, you do need to have some spare cash for when you are laying bets. He needed about £3k in his account for the referendum but won £3k on the outcome.

I don't place bets every night - I typically will place a few bets on a Friday or Saturday morning. Mostly on football, but sometimes on the horse racing for the big horse race meets like Cheltenham or Ascot.

I normally make between £300 and £500 a month (it depends on the type of offers the bookies have on in the month).

You can spend a lot of time doing matched betting, but you should make some decent pocket money even if you only do it in the odd 30 mins here and there a week.

Looking to start this but would need a service which spoon feeds me as I am not a natural ideally one which can take you through offers beyond book makers initial sign ups. I am considering profit accumulator, yes bets or odds monkey. Can anyone recommend a suitable one

@ynwa8476 I've tried a few and really like matchedbets.com because it's easy to keep track of everything, think they do a free trial as well

@fbolt001 agree, about half an hour per day gets me roughly £500 a month

I've been thinking about this since the summer. Have you set up a separate bank account for it?
Which sites are the simplest to follow to start with? I've loads of time to spend on it...

What about tax? Presumably you have to declare and pay tax on this regular £500+ a month income? It's unlikely to go unnoticed in your bank account.
